Meet the Hawk Interns

2023 Youth Crew

WMI is fortunate to have eight talented Wallowa County high school students taking part in our High School Internship HAWK program this summer. During this eight-week paid internship, HAWK interns learn about natural resource careers and collect field data, contributing to understanding of forest ecosystems. The internship combines hands-on experience and interaction with professionals in the field, supplemented with background reading and discussions on different topics relevant to the region. We are so impressed by our interns and their effort, enthusiasm, and adaptability. They've conducted forest monitoring, trail maintenance, outreach activities, and more. We are grateful to these awesome youth for their hard work and dedication to the program!
