Dunn- Roberts Scholarship Fund

The Dunn-Roberts Scholarship is offered to encourage participation in the field of forestry, agriculture, or related fields of study or trade. Funds for this scholarship include donations in memory and in honor of two former Wallowa County commissioners, Bruce Dunn and Susan Roberts, for their commitment to natural resource and agricultural management traditions in Wallowa County.

The fund was set up in 2018 and originally named for Bruce Dunn, a local forester and long-time chair of the Wallowa County Natural Resource Advisory Committee. In 2025, long time Wallowa County Commissioner, Susan Roberts announced her retirement and the scholarship committee agreed to change the name to the “Dunn-Roberts Fund” to memorialize Roberts’ lifetime support of the county’s natural resources industries and businesses.

The Dunn-Roberts Scholarship Fund is managed in cooperation between the scholarship committee and Wallowa Resources. A portion of the invested funds is distributed to scholarship winners each summer. Both Wallowa County graduating high school seniors and collegians with upper classman status who are pursuing studies in natural resources are eligible to apply.
