Bruce Dunn Scholarship
Grant & Scholarship Opportunities
Bruce Dunn was a forester who dedicated his entire working life to the Intermountain West. He spent much of his career managing northeast Oregon timberland and also served on the Wallowa County Planning Commission, helped to draft the Wallowa County Nez Perce Tribe Salmon Plan, and chaired Wallowa County’s Natural Resource Advisory Committee. He was elected to the Wallowa County Board of Commissioners just three months prior to his passing in August 2018. From public and private forestry, to fish and wildlife, land management, logging, and politics, his influence has been felt far and wide.
To honor Bruce’s commitment to science-based natural resource management and the professional development of Wallowa County’s future natural resource stewards, his friends and family created the Bruce Dunn Scholarship Fund. The Scholarship is open to Wallowa County graduates or graduating seniors interested in a career in natural resources.
